Sympathy Card

By | March 6, 2013

Are you New Englanders ready for another winter weather blast?  Sounds like the storm starting today is going to be a looooong one.  Especially if your kids will have another snow day tomorrow.  Anyone else here want to vote to get rid of the kids April school vacation week?  ME ME ME… oh, was that out loud? Oops.. hey, I love my kids to death, but….. I have TONS of projects to share with you and I need time to do that, right?  AM I RIGHT?

Well, this card that I saw at Leadership is beautiful and the colors in it reminded me of the weather going on around here.  It was created using the sponging technique.  You can really use this technique for anything but I like it for “Sympathy” and “Thinking of You” cards.  They have such a soft feel to them.

The main image in this card is from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set (127322-w $24.95, 127324-c $17.95). The background can be created by simply sponging your cardstock with different color ink pads and your Stamping Sponges until you get the shade you are looking for.  Our Framed Tulip Textured Embossing Folder was used and then sponged around the sides to give the tulips more of a “pop”.
