Sour Cream Container
Hey friends! Today I want to talk a little bit more about this 3D Easter project that we made during a Thursday Theater a few weeks ago. It looks like an adorable carrot and we made it using the classic sour cream container technique. You can check the original post here.
How many of you have used the sour cream container technique? It’s super fast and easier than you think! To begin with, you can use any size of paper you want, so long as it’s a square. For example, this was 6″ x 6″. You could do 4″ x 4″, 12″ x 12″, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″, and so on. This was a big “carrot” so to speak so I went larger than those little bitty containers.
The trick is where you place the adhesive! Let’s take a look at this diagram to give you a better idea of what I mean.
So you start by placing your adhesive down first. Something like Tear and Tape works best because the tape has a cover on one side that you have to rip off. You can keep it covered until you’re ready to use it.
Then, you roll it into a tube and glue together on the long strip side. Then, simply press on one side that will be your bottom to adhere. The top side will adhere in the opposite direction, but you don’t want to glue it or push it together until you’ve filled it with your goodies 🙂
