Today’s project is an adorable treat box that is made to look like a Pumpkin! This would be super cute gift for teachers, bus drivers, art instructors, etc. And it was quick and simple to whip up.
I started by using the Baker’s Box Thinlits Dies on the Big Shot Machine along with some Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. You will need to cut out twice, so cut your Cardstock in half like you would for a card. You will see where the score lines are and where to fold and glue together. I recommend using a strong adhesive if you are going to fill it with treats like I will!
Once you have glued it together, grab some Basic Black Cardstock and your punches. The eyes and nose were made with the Tree Punch. To do this, you can either punch out the whole tree and trim the ends off.. or… you can place your punch only slightly on the paper and then punch, creating the smaller triangle’s.
Next, take your Circle punch and create a black circle for the mouth. Then cut that circle in half and use some scissors to cut out a tooth. Isn’t this crazy cute already? Go ahead and glue those pieces down.
Now, I want you to grab your Bird Builder Punch and some Old Olive Cardstock to create the leaves. Use the little Banner Punch and Soft Suede Cardstock to create the stem. Glue all those pieces onto the top of the pumpkin.
Okay, almost done my friends.
Now, punch two holes in the top of Peter Pumpkin and use some twine, ribbon or whatever you’ve got on hand to close it up. This way, the recipient can open and close “at will”. ha ha
I hope you enjoyed this project. Be sure to leave me a comment if you’d like to see some projects like this one!
