Perfect Pairings stamp set from Sale-A-Bration
Hey friends. Thanks for joining me today. Hope you enjoy this project I created using the stamp set called “Perfect Pairings” from Stampin’ Up!. You can only get this stampset during sale of operation which ends March 31.
I began this card with a sketch and some bright colors don’t you think? It’s March and New England and yesterday it snowed and today the snow is melted and the sun is out. Go figure. In any event, I need more sunny days and less overcast days so I have been working on bright and exciting cards to help set the mood.
This card is your typical size. 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2 inches. It has a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock on top that is just a quarter of an inch smaller and embossed using our Brick Embossing Folder in the big shot machine.
I used a scrap from my Brights collection designer series paper pack and a strip of Crushed Curry cardstock.
This was the fun part.
After stamping the sentiment, I punched it out with a circle punch. I find that when I use a circle punch, it changes the stamp for me. You know what I mean? Does that sound weird?
When I look at a stamp initially I don’t see it as a circle. But I love the look of the circles and have to be reminded to use them – I don’t know why. For example, when I looked at this stamp it seemed basic to me. Nothing fancy.
After you stamp it, and punch it out with the circle punch – it changes the whole image I think. Am I crazy? That’s okay you can tell me. That’s just my little weird way of looking at things today I guess.
Andy who, as going from modern and trendy look at this card. After I cut out the smoky slate cardstock at two and three-quarter inches square, around the edges with the project life or punch. Such a cool little tool.
Can’t forget one of my favorite things lately, the Itty-Bitty Accents punch. Just the cutest little punch outs – the flower, the star, and the circle.
So here’s my card. When you think?
I’ve started decorating the inside of my cards as well. Ever noticed that when people get a card to look at it, they say
“Oh my gosh it’s such a cute and fun card!”
Then they open up to see what’s on the inside and it’s blank? Ha ha.
Yeah so I’m doing the inside of the cards too now. You should too!
Another thing- I am using all the paper I had to create envelopes. I don’t know why I have not done this more -I have more paper then flipping paper warehouse!!!! Seriously. Use your old cardstock people make envelopes.
If you’re wondering how to put your address on it especially when it’s a busy piece of paper, just put a white piece of paper on top where the addresses can be and don’t cut it out to be symmetrical or perfect. Make it a weird shape and glue down and add a little while she taped for an accent. But if it’s light enough like this card you can just write on it with a black marker and you’ll be fine. It’s so stinking adorable and people will love it.
