Sour Cream Container

Sour Cream Container

Hey friends!  Today I want to talk a little bit more about this 3D Easter project that we made during a Thursday Theater a few weeks ago.  It looks like an adorable carrot and we made it using the classic sour cream container technique.  You can check the original post here.

Sour Cream Container

How many of you have used the sour cream container technique?  It’s super fast and easier than you think!  To begin with, you can use any size of paper you want, so long as it’s a square. For example, this was 6″ x 6″.  You could do 4″ x 4″, 12″ x 12″, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″, and so on.  This was a big “carrot” so to speak so I went larger than those little bitty containers.

The trick is where you place the adhesive!  Let’s take a look at this diagram to give you a better idea of what I mean.

sour cream container

So you start by placing your adhesive down first.  Something like Tear and Tape works best because the tape has a cover on one side that you have to rip off.  You can keep it covered until you’re ready to use it.

Then, you roll it into a tube and glue together on the long strip side.  Then, simply press on one side that will be your bottom to adhere.  The top side will adhere in the opposite direction, but you don’t want to glue it or push it together until you’ve filled it with your goodies 🙂

That’s all for today!  I hope you enjoyed this Sour Cream Container project and will come by again soon!  Remember… Think It!  Ink it!  Happy Stamping- Angela 😉

You’re A Good Egg

You’re A Good Egg

Hi Friends.  This card  has a cute little story to it.  I needed to make a thank you card for my Aunt & Uncle.  You see, we moved about 2 years ago and it happened to be 6 houses down from them.  They are the best- always inviting us over, plowing our driveway during snowstorms, and lots more.  But the other day I went to get my mail and you’ll never believe it….

I went to my mailbox and there was a dozen eggs in there!  Ha ha ha- Ahhh the country life.  My Uncle has chickens and they have been producing more than they can eat.  So, he dropped the eggs off in my mailbox!  Aren’t they the best? If you’ve never had fresh eggs- I highly recommend it.  So much better than the ones in the store.  Heck- if my husband wasn’t opposed to it, I’d get chickens myself!  He thinks they stink but I could put them in the way back of the yard!!!  Although- my doggies may think differently- he he.

SO, you can see where the inspiration for this card came into play, right?  They are good “eggs”.  You can scroll down below for all the supplies I used in this card.

Taco Bus

Taco Bus

Hey there friends.  Sale-A- Bration has wrapped up for another year at Stampin’ Up! but that doesn’t mean it’s done for you guys!  I’ve got some surprises in store just for my customers.  But first, let’s chat about these cards- a Taco bus?  Too stinking cute!  And interactive!

I made girl and boy cards because we have so many birthdays coming up and it’s just easier to give gift cards.  I wanted something cute to move on the card so I added a tag.  Now, I can stick a glue dot to the tag and attach my gift card for them to pull out!

taco bus

I mean, can we “taco” ’bout how awesome you are? LOL!  This set is the coolest.  It’s called Tasty Trucks and it was one of the free sets during Sale-A-Bration.  I love it.  Sometimes I sell some of my retired sets because I can’t show them to customers anymore.  I mean, I “can”, but I don’t want to show you something that you can’t buy!  In any event, I think I’ll be hanging onto this one for awhile!

It’s an interactive card.  See that tassle?  The tab pulls out which is adorbs!  Take a look.

Stampin Up Easter Ideas

Are you looking for some different ideas to make for Easter?  Well, let me show you this adorable gift box- made using all Stampin Up product!  I gave this to a dear friend after filling it with chocolate and jelly beans- yummy!

Stampin Up Easter Ideas

These boxes are so quick and easy to make!  Plus, we double reinforce the lid so it makes it more durable.  And let’s face it- it just feels “nicer” in our hands!

Stampin Up Easter Ideas

You can see how to build this box using all the directions from this blog post here.  Just use a smaller paper size- this was 6 x 6″.  The Egg was colored in with a Blender Pen and Daffodil Delight ink.  I started with the ink on the left side of the egg and just kept moving the pen back and forth without re-inking so that it gradually got lighter.  I absolutely love coloring with the Blender Pen for this exact reason!

Stampin Up Easter Ideas

The Ovals were cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Ovals Framelits.  Simple and easy project that your recipient is going to love!

How to Make A Quilt Card

By | March 23, 2017

How To Make A Quilt Card

Hi Friends.  Today I’m going to show you a popular trend happening in the card making world.  And that is how to make a quilt card.  Or a card that looks like a quilt?  You know what I’m saying… ha ha ha

So how can you make that centerpiece?  Well, to begin with, you will need to cut 4 squares of paper.  Each one was 1″.  Then, cut the squares with scissors like I’ve shown you in the picture below.

How To Make A Quilt Card Angela's Ink Link

Now that you have the pieces ready, you will start to put them in place on the white square.  (This square was made by using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Big Shot machine)

Start with the larger pieces first.

How to make a quilt card Angela's Ink Link

Then place the smaller yellow pieces in, lining them up with the pink.  Now, they aren’t going to be perfectly symmetrical, but… I found one good way to hold them in place was to use post-it note holders.

I used the post-it notes to keep them in place while I glued each one down.

Basket Bunch

By | March 20, 2017

Basket Bunch

In todays project, I’m creating a card using the cutest stamp set Basket Bunch and the coordinating die set- Basket Builder.  It feels like it’s been winter for 10 years where I live with plenty of snow still on the ground and overcast days.  I need to add a whole lot of color to my projects to brighten things up!

Basket Bunch

I started with a sketch over at MOJO Monday.  Then, I chose the stamp set and colors.  It all came together pretty fast, actually.  You can see the list of supplies I used below.  If you really love this card, then you should check out the class or kit to-go I’m offering below.  Early bird ends Thursday.

Dragonfly Dreams

By | March 17, 2017

Dragonfly Dreams

Is it spring where you are yet?  We are on the brink here in New England, although winter is going out with a lion.  As I write this, there is snow falling outside my window.  Sigh… BUT, this card puts me in the mood for spring.  The popular Dragonfly Dreams stamp set is being carried over into the new catalog and this makes everybody happy!!

Dragonfly Dreams

Dragonfly Dreams

All the products that were used are listed below.  (and hey- did you know that if you click on the products, it takes you directly to the store to purchase them?)

Notice that die cut black Dragonfly underneath?  Well, rather than use a scrap piece of black, I cut it out of the layer of black cardstock from underneath.  Getting used to using up that layer underneath is a great way to save a little bit of money when you’re crafting!

Dragonfly Dreams

I wanted the wings to pop up a little so I only adhered the body of the Dragonfly.  You could use glue dots or the Multipurpose liquid glue.  If you use the liquid glue, just make sure to only use tiny amounts so it doesn’t squish out from the sides.
