Today’s card has a nautical theme. Actually, I created 2 cards because I couldn’t decide which I liked better, so you can let me know what you think towards the end, ok?
A little background… SHOCKINGLY… I am ahead of the game this week. (That almost never happens) A friend invited us to stay with their family for a few days on Cape Cod. (SQUEEL!) Our favorite vacation spot. So, I wanted to make them a card to thank them for so graciously hosting us. I started with a sketch from MOJO. You can see that sketch here.
Then, I picked up my Designer Series Paper “By The Shore”, since it was by the beach, I needed a Nautical Theme after all, right? I chose my 3 designs and got to work.
The layers are as follows, going from the base to the smallest piece:
- Card Base: 4 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- Vanilla c/s: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Strips of Designer Series Paper: 1 1/4′ X 5 1/8″
- Calypso Coral c/s: 2 15/16″ x 3 1/8″
- Vanilla c/s (stamped images on this layer): 2 1/8″ x 3″
This is the alternate Nautical Theme card below. I made it smaller with my leftover scraps from this card and decided to make the base of the card and the envelope with Dapper Denim Card Stock and Ink. To make the envelope, I used a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper and the Envelope Punch Board.
I hope you enjoyed checking out this card! If you would like to see all the class projects, just hop on over to the Stamping Factory today! There’s lots more to see!
