Mothers Day Card

Hi guys! You know what’s crazy? It’s snowing like crazy at my house today- in April! WHAT is up with that? I think Mother Nature is confused.  And speaking of mothers, you know what’s just around the corner?  You’re going to need a gorgeous mothers day card for Mom and I’ve got just the one!

mothers day card

www.angelasinklink.comIt started with this sketch.  I found an old project in my craft room that had these colors in it and I loved it all over again.  See the box to the left here.  This was a class that I put on last year.  I tried to re-create it using the sketch and then making it into a card.  Of course, I had to use a new stamp set, so I chose Watercolor Words.

If you haven’t used this set yet, you are missing out my friend.    It’s incredibly versatile.  Check out this card I made with it here.

Do you like the sparkles?  I didn’t add this, it came with the paper.  I used a piece of White Shimmer paper that I had and just stamped on it.  The sparkles show right through the ink.  It’s just enough to not be overwhelming.

After I punched out the larger Butterfly, I felt like it was too drab against the rest of the card, so I embossed it with the “Softly Falling” embossing folder. (all products are listed below and from Stampin’ Up!)  I bet you never would have guessed that I used a snowflake folder for it, would you?

Friends- don’t let the tag topper punches trick you into only using them for tags!  Come on now, let’s think outside of the box… GET IT?  I made a box above and we are re-creating it??  Yes, I am a total nerd but that’s okay, right?  he he..

I punched out both ends of the cardstock with the tag topper punch.  I think it looks great!

Almost done, just have to jazz up the envelope!  I tried to make bunches of flowers at the bottom so that it kind of looks like the flowers are falling into a pile.

Did it work?
