Learn how to make a “Window” without using the new Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies

By | November 11, 2015

So here’s the deal. When the Hearth & Home thinlits dies came out, I thought they were super cute. But sometimes Stampin’ Up! is a little behind the eight ball, if I’m being honest. So many people already have window dies from other companies- PLUS, it was in the holiday catalog. You can only buy so much, am I right? I couldn’t order every single thing in the catalog!!! Well, I could, but I might be living on the street afterwards. Ha ha. So I came up with a way to make my own window using the products I already own.

I took my one-inch Square Punch and Soft Sky Cardstock and punched out 4 squares. I placed them about 1/8″ apart and mounted them on a piece of Lost Lagoon Cardstock. Using my ruler, I figured out that the Lost Lagoon needed to be cut at 2 1/2″ square.  And, my friends… there is my window. To give it some added dimension, I’m mounted that on top of a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. cut at two in 3/4″ square.

Now that ribbon came from a ribbon sampler I purchased probably 10 years ago. This is one of the very best parts about Stampin’ Up! products. Even if you have retired product, it’s still going to match all your current product. This is because Stampin’ Up! coordinate’s everything for you so you don’t have to think about it, go searching for it, runaround to stores trying to match up what you are you bought.
Now I know that doesn’t help you in purchasing this exact ribbon, but you can find lots of equivalents in my online store in both the clearance rack and regular store.
