Heat Embossing on Patterned Paper

Hey there folks! Welcome back or if you’re here for the first time- Welcome welcome welcome!! Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s post is coming to you live from Dunkin Donuts.  A tree fell down on our street and there are 400+ people without power.  Blah!  So I packed up my computer and drove down to my favorite place to grab a cuppa joe.  It happens to be packed in here today so I’m thinking it’s probably a combination of no power and that it’s Super Tuesday at the polls.  Yikes.

Anyhow, onto today’s card.

Isn’t this robot stinking cute?  I haven’t used this technique in ages.  I don’t know why because I love it!  It’s heat embossing on patterned paper.

Have you tried this before?  If you are new to heat embossing, click here to see how.  It’s so simple and adds such a fun texture to your projects.  Plus, if you are not into coloring, this is the technique for you!

As you know, I am always in need of boys cards with two little one’s at home.  Well, they aren’t so little anymore, they are 9 and 12.  The 12 year old is now taller than me by 2 inches.  Ridiculous.  Here are the loves of my life, Alex and Matty.  They are dressed in yellow to support their friend Paris who is fighting cancer for the second time.

Anyhoo, this is the finished card.  What do you think?  I added some brick embossing because I thought it would add to the “masculine” look.

And this is the inside of the card.  I used the very versatile Tin of Cards stamp set to add some stars.  What boy doesn’t want to be a rockstar, right?

I hope you enjoyed checking out this card! If you would like to see all the class projects, just hop on over to the Stamping Factory today! There’s lots more to see!
