Happy Birthday Greeting Card
This very simple Happy Birthday Greeting Card is just adorable! It was quite a few years ago now that I traveled to Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference in San Antonio, Texas where we made this card. Well, not this exact card- I changed it up since then. When I saw the awesome FREE STAMP SET that we received in our Paper Pumpkin kit in April, I thought of this card and had to re-create it.
This is the free stamp set below. It’s called “All About Everything” and Stampin’ Up! included it as a BONUS in our kit for hitting $1 million kits that we’ve sent out. It went to customers and demo’s alike. Pretty darn cool and the stamp set is really simple and cute!
Okay, so I started by inking up this strip of white cardstock with real red ink and the flower. I made my own designer paper! Yay me!
I did the same thing with the Old Olive cardstock below except that I stamped it in Old Olive on top of the Old Olive paper to give it that watermark look. I could have accomplished the same thing by using Versamark ink, but that takes longer to dry and I honestly didn’t feel like waiting today. Patience is a virtue but I got things to do… ha ha
Yep, this ribbon is retired but it works perfectly! I’m sure you all have bundles and bundles of old ribbon lying around, don’t you? Use it up girlfriends! I don’t make bows too often because it costs extra to mail and I’d rather use my money to grab more stamps, know what I mean?
This flower punch is retired as well- BOO! But there are plenty of die cuts and punches in the new catalog that you could use in it’s place. I punched out 2 of them and then just stacked them using Stampin’ Dimensionals. To round the flower out, I dragged the cardstock between my finger and my bone folder. Just like you do when curling ribbon on presents. This made it bow and pop up.
I mean, this sentiment is so cute, right? I love the font. I have a problem with fonts. I love them. And the curlier, the better! I especially love when they combine 2 different fonts on a stamp. It’s like eating chocolate pie! Perfection.
I truly hope you enjoyed this card tutorial today.
