Happy Birthday Card for Boys
It’s Monday and that means it’s time for another challenge card. I love the sketches over at MOJO and this one was right up my alley! It’s the perfect sketch for a Happy Birthday Card for Boys! Take a look:
To get started, I used my “go-to” Designer Series Paper- Schoolhouse DSP! I don’t think many people have caught onto this paper, but it’s one of my absolute favorites in the 2015-16 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. The colors and designs are perfect for anyone with kids or grandkids the same as mine! (I have 2 boys- ages 10 and 12)
I pretty much followed the sketch exactly. The card is cut to the usual 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and folded in half.
I added a piece of Tangerine Tango to the base at 4″ x 5 1/4″. On top of that is a 1 1/2″ strip of DSP.
I added some punched out circles behind a layer of 1 1/5″ Whisper White Cardstock and stamped “HOORAY” in Tangerine Tango.
The “finale” was placing the stars in each corner. I used the Medium Star Punch and Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.
I always think of boys when using Tangerine Tango because the color reminds me of basketball and my kids play a lot of that! Not to say that girls don’t, I just don’t have any girls, ha ha.
Don’t forget to add some stars to the envelope to give it a finished look. If you’d like to see another card made with this paper, check this out here.
