I have to admit- this was a hard challenge for me. Make a page about ME? EH? Say what?
That was our challenge this week in the Digital Scrapbooking Group. This is SOOO not me and I found it pretty challenging. But Kimberly gave me a good starting point. Write a snippet of what your days are like. A typical day. Okay, I could handle that… not very exciting but I know what I’m typically doing day-to-day. Although the last 2 months are usually filled with interruptions from the plumbing inspector, electrician, the painter, the floor guy, etc. The list goes on and on. But TYPICALLY- I’m in my office grabbing whatever time I can to work while the kids are at school. So some silly pictures and kookie journaling. But some day I will look back and remember these days with a smile (hopefully) and say- “remember when”? And some day my future grandkids can look at these same pages and smile and say “wouldn’t it be cool to be around Grammie when she was that age”. And won’t that be nice? To have some pictures of you- YOU existed!
Kimberly told us a story in Utah last year about a client of hers that had cancer. She asked for help in making an album all about her for the kids to remember. I will never forget that story– it breaks my heart. But if you can get past the sadness of that hideous disease and what it was doing to this poor woman and her family- think about what an awesome, incredible gift that was. To leave this amazing story for her children and their children and so on.
I know that as women, we are always behind the camera and never like to be in front of it. It’s hard. I get it. I’m guilty. We don’t want to come off as pretentious or selfish or conceited. I NEVER did a page about me before hearing that story. But I think it’s important to do. I want my kids to remember the little stuff about me too when I’m not around someday. Even I want to look back in a couple years and remember things I may have forgotten. Things that just make you smile.
Anyhow, enough about ME!!! What about you? What’s YOUR story?
Let’s talk about how much I love this background paper from the “Hello There” Designer Series Paper Pack. I just added a few punches and did some journaling. The embellishments come from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. What do you think?
And here are today’s NEW digital downloads, available in my online store.
This is a problem, I know. But I seriously LOVE every single download this week. Check out the paper in the “Party Party” ensemble. The stars. OMG- LOVE!! That has JULY written all over it! Right? And the “Today Starts Here” photo book? I love the layouts! I would never think of that design- love it!! But don’t listen to just me- go see for yourself!
