A Birthday card using all letters and no images!

By | November 17, 2015

Hey you guys!

Do you know what tomorrow is? It’s my birthday. Have to say – I’m little bit more excited about it this year, because I’m taking matters into my own hands.
The past couple of years were stinky. Now I don’t expect some grand party, or over the top gifts. I just want my friends and family to be thoughtful.
For example, when someone I love is having a birthday, I obviously make them handmade card. But if I’m going to give them a gift, it’s something that I’m going to put some thought into. Something that they might like. It could be for their hobby, something they would never buy for themselves, a spa day, etc. You see where I’m going with this don’t you?
So not to sound like a bummer but, the past couple of years have felt like any other day. I didn’t feel special in any way shape or form.
But this year, I am taking matters into my own hands. I’ve got a ton of fun things planned this week. I’m going out to dinner with about 20 girlfriends. I’m going to a live wreath making class (it’s Dogwood). I’m getting hair and makeup done. And I’m going down to my local scrapbook store to pick up a planner that I pre-ordered. It’s going to be awesome.
Ok, so onto my card. It’s pretty straightforward. The cardstock is Cucumber Crush with a layer of basic black and Whisper White on top. I used lots of ink but didn’t really have to think about matching the colors because the blocks of color behind the letters are all of the in colors from the Stampin’ Up! catalog this year. Stampin’ Up! color-coordinated for me, ha ha. The birthday below was done in die cuts from the Little Letters thinklits. What do you think?
